Introduction to RNA™

Radix Nutrition Architecture

Radix Nutrition Architecture, or RNA for short, embodies our approach to nutritional design. It represents a comprehensive design process that guides the creation of our products. From initial concept through nutritional design, ingredient selection, manufacturing processes and technology. In short, it represents our relentless drive to create the highest quality nutritional products ever made.

Performance Through Health

Performance Through Health

RNA is a comprehensive way of approaching nutrition. It goes above and beyond with its examination of the body’s metabolic needs and sets the standard for their fulfilment. With thousands of chemical reactions happening at any one time, your body is no simple machine. It demands a vast number of nutrients to carry out these processes and function at its best.

Dr Bruce Ames’s realised this point with his Triage theory, proposing that the body requires a much more diverse range of nutrients than the traditional 30 essential micronutrients to function at its best. He suggests that when the body is deficient in a micronutrient, it will prioritise processes in the body required for short term survival, and proteins and enzymes involved in long term health will lose out on the allocation of nutrients. Dr Bruce Ames references 41 different micronutrients that have important functions in our overall health.

Looking at this theory through the scope of health and performance, we realised that if the body is deficient in nutrients, it will be starved of the raw ingredients it needs to function during exercise. We took Bruce Ames’s theory and expanded on it even more, adopting an obsessive and meticulous approach to giving the body everything it needs to perform. Using a science-based research process, our aim is to find any and all nutrients that impact performance and provide them through the highest quality products and ingredients. This forms the basis of RNA.

We now use RNA to increase the overall nutritional values of our products across a broad spectrum of 80+ nutrients, from macronutrients, micronutrients, pre and post biotics to a wide range of phytonutrients. We relentlessly pursue the latest advancements in health and nutrition, updating our RNA index as we discover new beneficial ingredients. This approach helps us provide your body with the nutrients it naturally seeks in its pursuit of optimising metabolic performance and maximising your potential.

Nutritional science & technology: Making the ideal, possible

Nutritional science & technology: Making the ideal, possible

This is where we dream up the new technologies and capabilities that enable us to create higher quality, more effective products. Take our meal range that’s become commonplace amongst athletes. We saw a problem and experimented to find a solution, and the resulting meal range now provides access to nutritious, natural meals faster than previously thought possible. Furthermore, it gave us insight into how to create a wider range of products built from the same underlying technology. There is no simple way to explain how this process occurs, and it can take years of effort. However, it stems from the same relentless drive to make the ideal possible through science and technology.

The ingredients: Not all food is created equal

The ingredients: Not all food is created equal

This is where our Radix Nutrition Architecture has a symbiotic relationship with our ingredients. The same technology that enables us to design an effective product also allows us to evaluate all ingredients that we use. Every ingredient, supplier, and production method is continuously assessed for nutritional quality. RNA helps us find ingredients with high nutritional values to provide athletes with more effective, nutritious products. A good example is the prebiotic fibre designs featured across our meal range. Through the continuous refinement of our design processes and ingredient options, we’re now able to provide a complex prebiotic solution with up to thirty different plant-based ingredients and up to eight types of prebiotics per meal.

The RNA nutrient index score represents the overall density of 80+ nutrients achieved within 2000 calories of a given product. The nutrients included in our RNA index are listed below.
